This Privacy Policy describes how Spoof Geolocation: Location & Timezone Faker ("the Extension") handles user data. We take user privacy seriously and have designed the Extension to ensure your data remains strictly confidential and entirely under your control.

1. No Data Collection or Transmission

The Extension is built to run 100% locally on your machine.

• No Personal Data: We do not collect, store, or monitor any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, IP address, or real geographic location.
• No Remote Tracking: We do not log, track, or transmit your browsing history, the websites you visit, or the locations you choose to spoof to any external servers or third parties.

2. Local Storage of Extension Preferences

Any configuration details or preferences you set within the Extension are stored purely locally on your device via the browser's secure chrome.storage.local API. This data includes:

• Your current active spoofed coordinates and timezone.
• Your saved favorite locations (up to 5 customized entries).
• UI configurations (such as your choice to display or hide the interactive mini-map).

This information never leaves your local device and is immediately deleted if you uninstall the Extension.

3. Third-Party Services

To provide city search and reverse-geocoding functionalities, the Extension queries the public, open-source Nominatim OpenStreetMap API. When you search for a city or click on the mini-map, a request containing only the search term or coordinates is sent directly to their servers to retrieve geographic names. We do not intermediate, see, or log these requests.

4. Permissions Justification

The Extension requests specific browser permissions solely to deliver its core technical features:

• storage: To save your active location presets, preferences, and favorites locally.
• sidePanel: To render the modern controls cleanly inside the Chrome side panel.
• scripting & webNavigation: To dynamically override the standard HTML5 navigator.geolocation and Intl.DateTimeFormat JavaScript environments.
• <all_urls>: To ensure the script injection seamlessly applies the spoofed location modifications across the web pages you actively visit.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to match any potential changes to Chrome Extension compliance guidelines. Any updates will be reflected directly on this page.
